About Yorozuya IT
Yorozuya IT is a small, independent technical publication based in Japan. Our main site is written in Japanese for readers in Japan. This English section covers the problems that are hardest to find good English-language answers for: Japanese text and encoding issues, developer problems that only appear when software meets Japanese data, and the everyday IT frictions of visiting or living in Japan.
How we write
Each guide starts from a specific symptom (an error message, a garbled screen, a rejected payment), explains the cause in plain terms, and gives a fix you can check yourself. We include diagrams because most of these problems are easier to see than to read about. When something depends on a setting, app version, or policy that changes over time, we say so and tell you what to verify.
Corrections
If a command, menu path, or fact is out of date, please tell us. We update guides and show the “Updated” date on each page.
